Louis ‘Louie’ Robert Manganiello Loving husband and father, ‘lit up a room when he walked in’ Louis “Louie” Robert Manganiello, 54, of Cedar Grove, N.J., passed away on Jan. 25, 2016, at home, surrounded by his loving family and dear friends.  Born in Orange, N.J., Louie grew up in West Orange, N.J. and resided in Cedar Grove for the past 10 years. Louie graduated from Mountain High School in West Orange in 1979. He earned his B.A. degree in history from Montclair State University in 2000, and his M.A. degree in teaching/history from Rutgers University in 2007. Louie was a teacher at John H. Walker Middle School in Nutley, N.J., for 16 years. In addition to being a teacher, during the summer Louie worked as the pool manager at Cedar Grove Community Pool in Cedar Grove, N.J., for the past 10 years. Louie also worked as a funeral assistant for Dangler Funeral Homes in Madison, N.J., and Morris Plains, N.J. He was a member of Our Lady of Holy Angels Church in Little Falls, N.J. In his spare time, Louie enjoyed volunteering with the Cedar Grove Cub Scouts as a den leader, Cedar Grove Recreation football and baseball leagues as a coach, and at Our Lady of the Holy Angels as a Catechist. Louie is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Rose Mary (Wong) Manganiello, and his adored sons, Giovanni and Rocco. He is also survived by his beloved parents, John and Lucille Manganiello of Brick, N.J.; his dear siblings, Vincent Manganiello of Andover, N.J., Maria Ryan and her husband, James, of Garwood, N.J., and Robert Manganiello and his wife, Jessica, of Randolph, N.J.; as well as his cherished nieces, Bianca, Olivia, Julia, and Elizabeth; and his mother-in-law, Connie Wong, and brother-in-law, Jerry Wong. Louie was a loving husband and devoted father. He was the type of man that lit up a room when he walked in. His infectious smile and genuine personality put everyone at ease. His love of people, especially kids, was evident by the many lives he touched as a teacher, and as a friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in memory of Louie be made to a college trust fund for Louie’s children’s education. Please make checks out to Rose Mary Manganiello and mail to Giovanni and Rocco Manganiello College Fund, c/o Rose Mary Manganiello, 10 Beverly Rd., Cedar Grove, N.J. 07009.
